Become a Girl Scout
Becoming a Girl Scout offers every girl the opportunity to make the most of a key time in her life. Time to discover the leader within. Time to establish friendships and make memories that will last a lifetime. Time when she’ll build the courage, confidence and character to change the world.
Girls can join Girl Scouts at any age and don’t have to start at the beginning:
- Girl Scout Daisy, grades K-1
- Girl Scout Brownie, grades 2-3
- Girl Scout Junior, grades 4-5
- Girl Scout Cadette, grades 6-8
- Girl Scout Senior, grades 9-10
- Girl Scout Ambassador, grades 11-12
Girls decide what they will do in Girl Scouts, that’s what “girl-led” is all about. Girls can participate in different programs depending on their interests and schedule. Our most popular participation options include:
Troop- Troops are groups of girls the same age who meet regularly (once a week, every other week or monthly). Each group decides what they want to do, but it could include working on Journeys, badges and other awards, planning camping trips, conducting community service projects, taking part in the Cookie Sale, or anything else they set their minds to.
Camp – Whether you’re a lifelong camper or want to experience the out-of-doors for the first time, this is for you. Girl Scouts offers outdoor programs throughout the year as well as summer camp opportunities. Camp is a great way to explore leadership, build skills, and develop an appreciation for nature.
Events – If you want to attend lots of different one-day or weekend events, this is ideal. Select from over 300 events offered by Girl Scouts and our community program partners.
Travel – For those of you who love to visit new places, Girl Scout Travel is a perfect option. Take part in the planning and fund raising, then enjoy a trip around the state, around the country or around the world. Teens also have the chance to travel to exciting national and international destinations.
